A Bunch of Saps!

We started collecting sap a few weeks ago. Not much collecting yet as it's been so cold in the daytime. It needs to be nice and warm in the day and be below freezing at night. We've collected two or three times so far and it's a lot of fun. For awhile. There are 600 taps but with all eight of us working together we git 'er dun. Maddy isn't in any of these pictures as she was at a friend's house. Notice even the cat helps!

So cool to see these pics! We just read "Sugaring Time" after reading a Chapter in Little House, it's cool to see someone you know actually doing it! Looks fun (for awhile, like you said!)

Great Pictures. Brought back memories of my girlfriends grandpa growing up Northern Minnesota...he had his big stove in his basement for the maple sap evaporation. So many trees on his property and neighboring you could drive by and see all the trees dotted with taps and buckets. He did this all his life well into his nineties!
